Subject: [CR] For Sale: Special-build late Carlsbad Masi

Through a trade deal, I have this Masi to sell, which frame was recently discussed at length on the list. Check the CR archives for details. I think it's a very cool item, and were it my size, I'd probably keep it. To my mind, it's like having a Baylis-built GC, so much do the custom details conform to Brian Baylis's style. Brian is sure he worked on it, but he can't remember who it was built for.

Stamped MC 58, with serial number 0754, built in 1976 according to Bob Hovey's Masi Registry. This is a typical Masi short 58cm. Measured to the exact top of the top-tube along the seat-tube from the center of the bb shell, it's more like 57.5cm.

spaced 124mm so you can fit a 5 or 6 speed wheel in it with no problem. Standover is about 81 cm with 23mm tubulars (not counting the height of the brake cable housing!). 56cm c-c top tube.

A nice piece. $1200 shipped in the US. Locals pay $1100, since I save packing and shipping.
