I think everyone dislikes seeing parts of frames hacked off. My own take on this particular auction is market forces have already spoken. A nice condition Eisentraut Frameset like this (even a Traut) would probably be long gone at $800 buy it now had it been unmolested. These days Albert would probably not even acknowledge a request to modify one of his old frames, in fact I doubt he would even build you a frame (with few exceptions)
