I have a bottle cage on the handlebars of my Paramount track bike, attached to a Minoura mount. The problem is that it's much more sensitive to road vibration (being directly over the front wheel), and on rough roads, the bottle squirms, inching its way up, and sometimes popping out.
I've tried various modern cages and bottles, to no avail. Someone recommended the King Iris cage to me as holding the bottle very securely, but still, I often had to push the bottle back down while riding over a bad road.
I've had several bottle cages fail at the weld when mounted on the handlebars, because of the constant vibration. I've also had a Minoura mount break.
