Bily Ketchum wrote <snip>: I've reamed out a few but that is really, really tedious and now i'd sooner throw the frame away. My next approach will be to take a Sawzall w/ a long blade and attempt to split the post [after first cutting it flush w/ the seat cluster.] ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This turns out to be pretty hard to control. The question seems to be how deeply you wind up scoring the seat tube, and whether you go all the way through. I once brazed in a fillet for a bike that had had the Sawzall therapy. didn't strenthen it, but made it look ok. I might even have built a longer tang for the back of the seat post to cover the damage, but memory is very dim on this point. So, good luck, and use those nerves of steel.
