I Put 75 Miles on my "Funny Bike" last Saturday including a 10mile 2000' climb up Latigo Canyon. To say the Funny Bike climbs well is a misleading statement. On a short "Sprint Climb" it handles the task but you better be able to climb in the drops on a std road bike. On a long climb it's more like grabbing your ankles & running a marathon. (This is all assuming we're talking a funny bike with a smaller front wheel than the rear).
My findings concerning fit, & these may be different depending on the geometry of the bike you have. Mine is a Pinarello. My seat is slightly more forward than on my road bike & still needs to come forward a bit more & up(I'm looking for a different seat post). Also important is the bars. I had a set of mavic bullhorns on the first funny I had. They did the Job but I found a set of Cinelli 84 Olympic bars for this bike which Seem to work a little better for me because they have a more rounded up sweep which I can set more comfortably.
All in all they are not great bikes for riding everyday. With the front axle lower than the rear it handles a bit strangely & riding in the drops all day takes a lot of practice for most. All In all it is a lot oof fun to take out though...if ya got a thing for nostalgia!
