Subject: [CR] Bauwens - anyone heard of them?

I've purchased a Bauwens road cycle with the following components: Pivo bar and stem; Weinmann 730 brakes/levers; Shimano 600 Arabeque derailleurs; Italia Condor saddle; Coronado chainset 42/52; Huret wing wheel-nuts; Christophe toe-clips; Lyotard pedals; Weinmann F Wheel (16 x 622 - 700c) - Hub Unknown; ETRTO Alesa Alloy R Wheel (622x17 217 - 700c) with SACHS U3 Hub. There is no frame number at all.

I have enquired locally (Mons, Belgium) to discover (possibly) that BAUWENS was a small concern based in Saint-Symphorien, Mons that produced race bikes only and that they closed over 20 years ago. That's all I've managed to uncover but I will attempt to break into the local club scene once my French improves (could be a v. long time).

Apologies for the lon-winded email but, does anyone have any information on these bicycles? Have I wasted Euros 20 on this project? Thanks,

Nigel Martin
