Subject: [CR] Advice needed on 70s Colnago Super with possible crash damage

I have the chance to buy a mid to late 70s Colnago Super for about 500 dollars, fully Campy SR with components in middling shape except a really nice Colnago panto crank with full Mexico treatment.

My question is about the frame. I inspected it and found a small indentation underneath the downtube just south of the head tube, which suggests a crash in its past. But when I rode it I could detect nothing, and it ran straight when I took my hands off the bars. There is no other sign of damage, and the fork is straight.

The bike isn't going to be for show, but will be a rider. Should I avoid this one or is not really not much to worry about.

I have no experience in buying damaged frames, my other bikes being perfect.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks,

Robert Aguirre Detroit, MI
