Subject: [CR] campy pedal troubles

hello all,

i am having a very hard time adjusting some campagnolo gran sport pedals. the wrench flats for the cone are out of reach of any tool i have when i'm tightening the locknut. also the keyed washer is not doing it's job, so the cone, washer, and locknout all turn together on the axle and don't allow for a workable bearing adjustment! previous to this problem i had recently rebuilt some gipiemme special pedals that came on my bianchi "trofeo", and i have the same problem with them too. they are a campy copy, and while not as nice as campys are still good pedals. (in the meantime the bianchi has sountour superbe pro track pedals which i like much more! but i'd still like to have the gipiemme's going again)

i did search the archives, and did not find any answers.

the ideas that i have so for are either making a tool or having one made for me, or sourcing keyed pedal washers. i'm not sure if a new keyed washer would do the trick, but the key on the washers on both the gran sport and gipiemme pedals is too tiny and does not stay in the keyway.  instead the key just turns into the threads and allows the washer to turn the cone.

does anyone have any campy keyed washers to sell or trade? trade is best for me but i can buy outright too.i have some campy small parts as well as many other parts.

running into this problem also prompted me the check out my other campy pedals, a pair of sl's and a pair of record with the toe strap loop, and i found them both to have a cone that sits farther out and allows for a thin spanner to hold the cone in place while making bearing adjustments.

any advice with how to get my pedals adjusted would be greatly appreciated, i'm sure i'm not the only person to run into this!

thanks!
