Hi Charles,

it depends on the type of paint the decals are sticked on. I got best results with my 30years old Gios decals by using acetone/nail polish remover. The work was done without any mechanical effort, with a very clean result and withiut any scratches or delustering. The paint of the bike was a pyroxylin varnish and the effect with a alkyd varnish might have been a desaster. So I think it might be the best to give it a try at an "invisible" spot.
