I for one am tired of members attacking other members with insensitive and derogatory comments. This forum is supposed to be a site to share information about a hobby or business that is of interest to all of us. People seem to be acting as the "authority" on various subjects and offering their vicious comments and opinions on just about anything that bothers them. For instance, about six weeks ago, a member acquired a very special French bike that he had been looking for,for some period of time. He paid a lot of HIS money for it. He was extremely enthusiastic about the purchase until comments were posted that questioned his mental soundness for spending that kind of money on something that wasn't close to being worth it. To add insult to injury, this bike was mentioned as " just a bunch of cobbled together parts". A very negative description. These commments weren't neccessary. It was his money, not yours. He hadn't asked for an opinion about this purchase. But some people just seem to enjoy popping someone elses balloon. Now we have the recent and withdrawn Colnago that was on Ebay. One party in particular, saw fit to rant about a paint job in such a negative way that the painter was forced to defend himself on the list. The painter informed us that the bike was trashed and was to be a rider, so a nice glossy paint job was put on it. The finished product was a lot nicer than what they started with. In addition, now that this bike had been snake bit, it had to be pulled from Ebay. We need to be more sensitive to what and how we critisize. Guys, this is supposed to be fun and informative. Lets try harder to be civil to one another and consider the damage that can be done with some inappropriate comments. Thanks Jerry Jeter, Wildwood, MO 63005
