Jamie and all,

IF restored means repainted, then do we need to get into the "as original" paint or the very common, best we can apply today spray job. Also a common issue with restored cars that NEVER looked half that good from the manufactuer.

I say restore them as you like. I've never had a bike "as delivered" for more than a week. And more often than not, prefer to start with just a frameset.

Now where that all fits into the judging of fine lightweights, I don't know. Do we need to pick winners? I can see a peoples choice and pehaps best original in different age groups. But restorations???
