Mike,

"The seeds of Father-Son bitterness were sown many years ago when Tullio named one of the truly crappiest derailleurs in his lineup after his son."

You know, I often thought that myself... Tullio must have truly hated his son. Not only was the Valentino derailleur the worst in the Campy line up, it was one of the worst performing derailleurs sold in it's day.

When a bike came into our shop with a Valentino derailleur we either replaced it with a Simplex Prestige or cast it out into the cold! ;-)

Since I'm a true retro grouch, there have been very few products in the Campy offerings over the past 10-15 years that have held any interest for me.
