Hi, Ken---

The wide foot problem is quite common with Campy Record or Super Record pedals. I can't wear them, either. You've already found an easy solution suitable for a vintage bike, the Lyotard 460 (also called the 460D) or a clone made by the Japanese firm MKS.

But other pedals in the Lyotard lineup work as well for wide feet and look a lot racier....

The Berthet #23, is easy to find.

The 14F and the 45 are the cat's meow.....IF you can find a pair. (I do see them occasionally on ebay.)

Hope this helps.

\r?\n> Hi,

\r?\n>

\r?\n> My 1960's racing bike is fitted with Campagnolo Record

\r?\n> pedals and these dig into the underside of my foot when

\r?\n> cycling wearing normal shoes. I measured these pedals and

\r?\n> find that they are only 3" wide and so I then measured my

\r?\n> foot and was dismayed to find that these are 4.25" wide. No

\r?\n> wonder my feet do not sit comfortably on the Campags. I used

\r?\n> to ride on Chaterlee pedals when I was a teenager back in

\r?\n> the 60's which I think are similar in width to Campag pedals

\r?\n> and experienced no problems hence I am left wondering if

\r?\n> feet spread as one gets older ?

\r?\n>

\r?\n> My day bike is a 1980's Peugeot bike that is fitted with

\r?\n> cheap and chearfull Loytard pedals and since these are a

\r?\n> healthy 4" wide I have not experienced any problems fitting

\r?\n> normal shoes onto and pushing on same.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Can anyone suggest a good make of wide fitting pedals

\r?\n> suitable for and contemporary with a 1960's road bike ?

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Alternatively I have wondered if purchasing a pair of retro

\r?\n> Italian cycling shoes as sold by Dromarti might provide the

\r?\n> answer ? These lace up leather shoes are made with a small

\r?\n> platform on the sole which will raise the foot slightly and

\r?\n> maybe this will help avoid the end turn up piece on the

\r?\n> campag pedals from digging in to the edge of my foot.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Does anyone have experience of these Dromarti cycling shoes

\r?\n> or is their another alternative that I should consider ?

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Dromarti shoes can be checked out at :-

\r?\n> http://road.cc/content/review/3108-dromarti-race-shoe

\r?\n>

\r?\n> http://www.thewashingmachinepost.net/shoes

\r?\n>

\r?\n> where a small video of same and Mavic platform pedals can

\r?\n> also be downloaded. These shoes are not cheap and there

\r?\n> would appaear to be a 2 month waiting list to buy a pair.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> What to do ?

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Regards
