Subject: [CR] Special 1962 Hetchins Magnum Bonum for sale

On behalf of Keith Hellon, I am offering the following special bike to the CR list before it is offered generally:

A rare 1962 Hetchins Magnum Bonum with straight stays, complete bicycle, built up with appropriate period components. Seat tube 22", top tube 22". Frame no. H2056.

This frame, a beautiful example of Magnum Bonum lugwork, was refinished in 1990 by Hetchins in the UK in its original colors, black and red enamel with gold lug-lining. It was the last bike made by Hetchins with a head-clip style headset, as specified by the original owner. Custom features include a handlebar stem to match the lugs and a custom rear rack, both made by Keith Hellon.

Components include: Stronglight 3-arm steel cranks with Zeus 52/48 chainrings; Campagnolo Record front and rear derailleurs; GB 66 centre- pull brakes; GB engraved alloy bars with a custom stem; Brooks B37 saddle; Campagnolo pedals, GB toeclips; Ambrosio HP 27 rims on Campagnolo Record large flange hubs, front water bottle mount; red Bluemels cellulose mudguards.
