Hi George, also check here: http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/
Apparently the MC on the BB shell stands for the model: M Super Corsa
Mine is also MC56, but S/N 85741, lists world champs to 1955, Yours must be
older. Mine is a mix of parts, some Italian, some French and some English,
includes Frejus headset, BB, with Magistroni crank which were apparently
sometimes badged Frejus. More details here:

George,
Take a look at the Frejus serial number chart on the Classic Rendezvous web
site; you can find it at:
http://www.classicrendezvous.com/
The serial numbers get a little sketchy in the region of yours, but looks
like late 1950s. The number "56" on the bottom of the bottom bracket is the
frame size (seat tube) in centimeters. I'll let others answer the other
questions.

During the recent Frejus nostalgia fest, I got carried away and bought a elderly road frame from a list member. It is apparently a bike from the 50's or early 60's. Finish is in pretty good shape for this old a bike. I'm hoping someone can help me with the date.
1. The bike has steel cranks marked "Frejus" and a Frejus headset (I've never heard of such a thing).
2. Grease fittings on back of head tube and on top of BB.
3. The badge and seat tube transfers list the dates of world championships from 1930 to 1953.
4. The top of the seat tube under the cluster is stamped "60732". The bottom of the BB is stamped "56 MC."
Any thoughts on date or data base where I can do some research.
I would like to build the bike up with period correct components. I suppose it's impossible to say what the original equipment was, but what might an Italian bike of the period be equipped with in terms of derailliers, pedals, wheels?
