no reason at all that you should hit any cranks with any kind of mallet. it won't get anything on better than using the bolt will do.

the cranks are going to flex (maybe you are describing something else). what kind of BB is it? perhaps you need to tighten the adjustable cup...

\r?\n> I put a new Campy pista crank on a

\r?\n> track bike and notice a tad of flex in

\r?\n> and out when standing on them. I took it off and put it

\r?\n> back on and used the

\r?\n> ole rubber mallet to pound it back on. It's on, but I still

\r?\n> notice a tad of

\r?\n> play in and out.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> The BB is a 111 ISO spindle so that shouldn't be an issue.

\r?\n> My Sugino 75s and

\r?\n> early 70s Campy cranks don't have this issue. I actually

\r?\n> use shorter JIS

\r?\n> spindles with them to accommodate and this is not

\r?\n> noticeable. Should I be

\r?\n> concerned? The chain alignment looks right too.
