Subject: Re: [CR] question about Huret Jubilee front derailleurs

Robert,

Huret made 2 sizes of seat tube clamps for the Jubilee front derailleurs: 28mm French and 28.6mm Inch. The clamps on the Jubilee front derailleurs are pretty fragile and trying to clamp on one made for 28mm on an inch size down tube can end in tragedy. I've down it myself back in the day.

They offered both sizes for a number of different models of down tube shift levers too.

This link shows details for Huret front derailleurs and shift levers in their 1977 brochure:

Thought you would be able to answer a question for me about Huret Jubilee front derailleurs. I have one, but it only fits my Follis 531 bike, not Merckx (531) or Colnago (Columbus) bikes.

Did Huret make a Jubilee with a clamp to fit non-French tubes?
