I'm glad you got to see those, Steve. I worked at the Torrey Pines Rest Stop and didn't see a single classic bike all day. Last year I chatted briefly with a gent riding a beautiful Masi.

Rode the Amtrak Century ride yesterday from Irvine to San Diego on one of my off-topic bikes and was delighted to see several vintage steeds on the road including

Medici ProStrada, with full dura-ace.  Rider even had a Medici kit. Beautiful bike. Hot pink Univega Super Strada with Campy Record Concorde Aquila Schwinn Paramount

And a couple I didn't get a close look at

A lovely Maroon Guerciotti with yellow accents Trek DeRosa

The course is a pretty fast, rolling one with only two significant climbs. I'll definitely consider riding one of my vintage bikes next year if I do this one again.
