AX handlebars do exist -- I have a set. Interesting bar ends (tapered and sliced on the bias so the rubber plug was longer at bottom and shorter on top.). Lotus aero used a Nitto bar with a blue top, something like the Cinelli XA bars, so they would be appropriate though not easy to find. The French aero bikes used a beautiful stem that was ovalized and tapered -- I believe Gitane made Hinault's and that would serve as a great complement to any aero bars you may find, even nicer than the AX stems.
