Pic of the Day 25th January, 2009 Le VĂ©lodrome Jacquelin

Edmond Jacquelin watches as apprentice cabinet maker and American Motorpaced Champion Alfred Letourneur trains on Jacquelin's wonderful banked dirt track at l'Ile d'Amour at Pont de Neuilly (Paris). Looks like Alf is riding a stayer. I wonder what became of this track, and how much it would cost to build one like it in my back yard??? From "Match l'Intran" No.337, 21 February 1933.

Internet sources say Jacquelin died in 1928, but he looks pretty life-like in these photos.
