Well I don't know why Campy made the Pista HS, but they sure came in handy In The Day, when someone screwed up and cut a steerer a couple of threads too short for an NR Strata HS.

\r?\n> Subject: [CR] Purpose of a Track Headset ??

\r?\n> What is the purpose of a campagnolo track headset ?? I mean
\r?\n> really,
\r?\n> if you want the stack height to be 5 mm lower, why not just
\r?\n> chop off 5
\r?\n> mm from the head tube ?? Are you saying that campagnolo
\r?\n> made a
\r?\n> headset just to create some extra clearance on the
\r?\n> 18.5" framesize and
\r?\n> everyoned adopted it on all frame sizes by mistake ?? Has
\r?\n> anyone else
\r?\n> ever produced a 'track specific' headset? It only
\r?\n> counts as 'track
\r?\n> specific' if you offer a road model as well ... (sorry,
\r?\n> Hatta ...)
\r?\n>
\r?\n> I received a track frame recently with a nuovo record
\r?\n> headset and
\r?\n> campagnolo track BB installed. The catalogue clearly shows
\r?\n> a track
\r?\n> headset installed, but I am wondering if perhaps the nuovo
\r?\n> record
\r?\n> headset might have been the actual original equipment.
