I received a bike from him, also unfortunately damaged in transit from poor packing. Typical problems like the rear dropout being closed down slightly from keeping the rear derailleur mounted when the wheel was removed, and banging on the bottom and rear of the box, and the freewheel covered with one layer of thin bubble wrap turned toward the seat tube and gouging it up (very slight dings too). These two points I specifically asked that he guard against, when I made payment. The front wheel made hard contact on the other side, bending the front derailleur cage plate. He also failed to mention there was a rusty old bolt broken off and seized up in one of the bottle bosses. He wanted pictures (which I did in fact take) so that he could make a claim to the shipper, to whit I informed him there wasn't a prayer in hell that they would honor it, ESPECIALLY if pics were supplied. I explained as briefly as possible, again, what to avoid and what he omitted, but it was clear that he didn't care too much, in my opinion. Oh ya, he forgot to mention in his description that the bike was repainted, which seemed pretty obvious when looked at in person, but not visible online. This last point, he might not have known enough about to have perceived, but still, I will have to second Dale's warning to avoid.

All: ? Last month I purchased the refinished green Griffon offered on eBay that a few of us were talking about (180312938620.) This is the one which had had a very nice cycleart re-spray,?unfortunately it was scratched up during s hipping. The seller wrapped the frame in?ONE layer of saran wrap around t he tubes (!), and removed the fork and wrapped paper around it and put it l oose in the box (!!!) The threaded headtube of the fork naturally migrated to the space between the chainstay and the inside wall of the box, threads cut through the paper, and scratched the frame. Mostly clearcoat damage, bu t it cannot simply be polished out. Oh, and he didn't ship one of the heads et bearings. Legit mistakes I suppose, but the seller did not even return m y email messages until I said I did not want to escalate my concern, at whi ch point there was a lot of blame-placing but no responsibility taking. I w on't diatribe the details, but this is a seller who obviously has (or had) no clue about packaging, and if you get enticed by his (many) on-topi c offerings, "buyer beware." ?
