Thanks Norris, Jan and Alex for your thoughts on that bike. It was hard t o swallow some of those comments, but I appreciate them nonetheless.

Sure there are a couple "misses" on this frame, but I think it still has plenty of noteworthy touches that clearly put it in the big leagues. And Ja n, assume the Philippe had a page in your book; If that were the case , it would seem difficult for me to explain why the Philippe was worth 1/ 4 the price of a nice 70's Herse or Singer.... No?

What I'm saying is if anyone has a Herse they would like to trade me for th e Philippe, you got a deal :-)

In all honesty, to find a "no namer" similar in quality and performance t o a more well-known bike you've always admired, is more a memorable acco mplishment then spending close to $10,000 on that more well-known bike... at least for me.
