I have to admit that I have a weird quirk with this. On my my fixed gear bicycles equipped with a front brake, the lever is on the right. Perhaps because I like having my dominant hand on the lever, who knows. I've never lived in the UK, I've just always preferred it that way.

Then comes the quirk. All my road bikes are set up "continental" as Mr. Laing refers to them (a term I quite like). I also still use my front brake as the dominate one, so basically switch to left dominate when I am on a geared bike. Personally, I can't make any sense of it, but somehow it works. I supposed it's become instinct that if I'm able to cost I brake with the left.

Go figure.
