Re: [CR] Masi Silver Touch-Up Paint

(Example: Production Builders:LeJeune)

Ken,

None of the Masi original colors from the States used Italian paint except for the pearl yellow; which was abandoned early on based on the difficulty in using it (need to be baked at 400 degrees for and hour or so, as I recall. The original paint on early Carlsbad Masis was PPG baking enamel. By the time your bike was built they were using Imron. So there are variations even within the early CA Masis. Imron clear will not yellow, EVER; as far as I can tell. I've seen a good number of 30 year old plus Imron clearcoats that have been exposed to all sorts of conditions that haven't even started to yellow. If it happen after we're all dead, it won't matter. But pretty sure that won't happen either.

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA I like Imron; tastes great AND it's less filling!
