I have taken a bike, or part of a bike, to a local shop only two times in as long as I can remember. One was to replace a headseat race that was giving me indexed stearing. I didn't have the tools for that. The other was to remove a freewheel from the hub when I had stupidly removed the spokes first. Didn't have the tools for that, either. Much of my cycling enjoyment is derived from working on my bikes.
