I bought some of these in gum-color last year, on Ebay, and they were NOS taiwanese actually, in plastic bag with stapled-on, folded cardboard hang-tag, and with the triple chevron pattern on top. They quickly turn white in use, requiring continual periodic renewal by rubbing any solvent or neatsfoot oil on them. So, not the best rubber.

The black version you've shown, I got mine from CycleArt, via the 'bay. One pair is cracking now after 2 years indoors, but no whitening.

I am partial to the CaneCreek ones in black. They have one shortcoming in that they seem thicker and stiffer around the edges where they meet the bar: ...and folding them back (try sliding them foreward instead) over on themselves to re-tape the bar will cause them to split down the top seam! I unhook and remove the cable at the lever before sliding them foreward in most cases, depending on the tape I'm using.

I always install hoods on mounted levers (after taping, if it's a new build) by sliding them on from the front, a swipe of alcohol making this easy.
