It does seem to be the case with cranks having missmatched date codes, some of mine are odd......something I'm not too worried about......though you have to be careful with the post 78 RH cranks matching up with the appropiate bracket and front gear.

I recently managed to find a NOS 177.5 strada LH crank to match a post 78 RH....the new LH is undated, so presumably pre 73?
