All. I recently picked up a SR equipped bicycle with a set of mismatched campy cranks. The drive side is dated 1982 and the non is dated 1980. The original owner swears that they have never been changed or replaced and that the cranks are what was originally on it when it was purchased new in Italy.

It seems to me that with components so close In years that it is possible that campy could have sold mismatched sets to clear out old stock.

Does anyone know if this is the case? Did campy ever sell gruppos with components from different years?

Hello,

this was also very common in Germany in the seventies and eighties.

Our wholesalers at this time mixed and changed chainrings and cranks as a usual business.

No one in the shops take care about these circumstances. Different date codes between rear derailleur, cranks and different date codes between left and right crank are usual.
