Subject: Re: [CR] Care of vintage bikes

The young woman who owns the shop I frequent has some knowledge of vintage bikes and components, and what she doesn't know, she is willing to learn. I do all my own work, but I do ride my vintage bikes on the weekly shop rides, so they do get exposure.

I had a bit of a chuckle a couple weeks ago. She was working on an old French tandem for a customer and spent a long time cleaning out the bottom bracket threads with a wire brush and a nail. I told her she should have just called me and I would have loaned her my French thread bottom bracket taps to chase it out. Next, time, I guess. :)
