Aye, blokes, you might be sure not to miss your all-too-frequent CR postings. This time, the message from Hon Lee just got skimmed, since we have enough tandems for now (1), much as I loved the Jack Taylor we borrowed for a year, coincidently in 1973.
What set the hair on the back of my neck on end was the name "Jo-Al Hintz," the owner. Aye, that's the name lettered on the top tube of my dark green Hetchins Italia Spyder, in letters so gothic I was never certain what they said!
Mrs Hintz was most gracious, and remembered the bike well. I hope to speak with Jo-Al about the it in the near future.
Thank you, Hon Lee and Jo-Al!

His tales of riding with a club that he joined whilst there are entertaining with a very interesting twist to what initially seemed to be "friendly" rides.? If any of you are inclined to contact him regarding this tandem, you will find his recounting of a 12 hour ride truly insightful, especially with his 50 mile handicap.? But to the bike:? purchased in 1973 by Jo-Al and his wife with the customary counsel with the esteemed Taylors, it is red with white box lining, 23/21 inch captain/stoker, braking enhanced with an Atom drum, pannieres, lights/generator, complete with an extra set of wheels.? He's asking $1500 plus shipping, but as the Craigslisting yielded no response, he's open to offers.? He works for FedEx, so his shpping costs will also be reduced.? His telephone number is (907) 694-5644.? He admits to being a klutz on a computer, but does have an e-mail address, which he may view once a month:? joal.hintz@gmail.com.? I am receiving no personal benefit from this announcement; I am extending a CR courtesy to a gentleman who has ridden seriously for 4 decades and who?also owned and ridden a classic Masi and Dave Moulton, and who still commutes on a bike in Alaska.
