I found at Robert's pics of the 74 Merckx Kessels interesting, I have seen that bike before somewhere, it has beautiful lines, but built to be ridden, hard - not a wall hanger.

In the picture of the head tube, there's a groove in the front of each lug, a couple mm from the ends of the tub, that has been cut - probably sawed - I have not seen this detail before, wonder why this was done ?
