<< If this really is 1973, then it is certainly a custom order. Not only the fastback stays and internal cable routing, but the brazeon shifter bosses and brazon mounting for FD were not standard in 1973. I'm not even sure that FD brazeon was avalable in 1973. One would almost believe this bike was modified and refinished in the ealy to mid 80's. Except that to change to fastback stays would have been an extensive and expensive modification. >>

Jerry, I think you are on to the fact that this bike was extensively customized (to say "Restored" in the auction description is a bit of a laugh.) Has anyone ever seen this fat back stay treatment on any pre1980 Paramount? I simply don't believe it came from Schwinn that way.

I'm not a Paramount guy at all, but did this thing even start out as a Paramount? I would guess it was a Windsor or some type of amatuer build to start with?

This seller is highly suspect. I've follwed his auctions for awhile just for entertainment value. He started off selling a bunch of "single-speed conversion" disasters and some "restored" race bikes. All showed dismal attention to detail and very poor knowledge of bicycle mechanics.

I believe he is a painter, as most of the bikes and frames he sells are refinished. Again, if you look close (when the photos allow) not very well done either.

There seems to be enough buyers on ebay that do not know what they are looking at to keep him in business. And if they are happy with the product I guess that's all that matters. But I would warn any listmembers to stay clear off this guy based on what I've seen him sell over the last year or so.
