Selling what appears to be a 1960s Carlton Catalina, partial road bike. Serial number is W 8208, and I read on the Internet that sequences with the first character from late in the alphabet, are found on some examples from the mid 1960s. Seat tube is 58.5cm c-c, top tube is 57cm, takes English threaded parts, and 27" wheels. Color is that weird root beer brown, with a hint of red that almost makes it look like Coca-Cola through a glass bottle. 531 butted frame tubes, Simplex plastic (Delrin?) derailleurs and shifters, Williams cottered steel cranks, Weinmann Vainqueur 999 center pull brakes, and GB 90cm (red label) stem with cool cable routing THROUGH the extension. The frame does not have Cappella lugs which I read on the Internet were discontinued in about 1965, so this frame is apparently later than that. Williams cranks have a date code ZE 40 on the drive side, said to be from 1964, and what looks like just ZG on the non-drive side.
Copious amounts of pics to peruse (44 in total, on three pages) either for
purchase or just documentation:

This bike is as found, from the dry barn of the original owner. I've wiped it down well, but have not cleaned anything for real. Plastic bar wrap was used to cover the chain stay, and having uncoiled it a bit, I can see that the paint underneath is still great. I've left the loose plastic, there on the stay. A LOT of the little rust specs seen in pics WILL be removable, but some may remain. The front derailleur and shifters look to be in rough shape, with plastic parts broken, some rusty steel parts on each, and the front gear is completely missing its cage. The rear changer is still holding together the best of the bunch, but certainly has patina to match the rest. The special adjuster that goes in the rear brake bridge IS intact and in good solid condition.
Front wheel is a Taiwanese replacement, and the Normandy rear wheel is needed elsewhere, so this offer comes with NO wheels. As pictured, it also has NO handlebars, which WERE GB "Map of GB" type, and will find a new home on my buddy Chuck's Raleigh Pro which currently has a bent set ... sorry about that. Missing from photos are the Weinmann brake levers with white hoods, and the GB stem, but they are all included in the offer, complete with the TINY little brake cable ferrule that fits in the top of the stem. Can't tell if the quilted springer seat is original or not (feels like a newer replacement to me), but it too is included, along with everything else I didn't mention.
To summarize, you get everything in the pics, less the wheels, but you also get the original stem and brake levers, which are not shown in pics. Buyer may have the freewheel too, if asked for, but under the condition that I have the correct tool (likely) and the ability to remove it (also likely).
Asking $150, plus actual delivery. If it doesn't sell, it will be listed on Ebay tomorrow evening, for a five day auction, ending Sunday evening, and it will be side by side with the unsold 53cm 1970s Poggiali frameset that I offered to the list a few days ago. We are not supposed to offer things on list more than once, so if you want to look for them after tomorrow night, my Ebay ID is torpado1, or you can email me if you would like an update and links. This is the only time I'll offer this here. Thanks for looking
