Subject: [CR] Identifying and old fixed wheel frame

Hello all,

Firstly I'll apologize if I get the format wrong for this email. I am new to the group and I need some help identifying a restoration project I have undertaken. The frame is currently being sprayed and I'd love to get some decals for it but I just don't know what it is.

Sadly the stem is stuck and has been damaged being removed but I have tracked down a stem of similar age to replace it.

I have just dropped the cranks off to have the chrome replaced on the arms.

Here are some pics of the bike

Here are some of the parts I have stated to clean and polish.

Some friends have suggested it is a bike from the early 50's. The bottom bracket has a sleeve in it and someone has suggested this was inserted to fit an English bottom bracket as the original may have been French but I don't know if this is correct.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me.
