In general that's the basic concept. There are several steps now shown for sure. The thing I see that could be improved is that you shouldn't check the alignment in the same fixture as one uses to do the bending, in my opinion. I realize that's really common, but it's not good practice to me. I know that's splitting hairs and the Euros would probably slap my face and spit in my eye; but that's an example how we're (obsessively) different here. It takes a few more minutes to move it back and forth; but what's a few more minutes here and there.
But generally speaking, there is nothing wrong with what he's doing. There are as many approaches to these sorts of operations as there framebuilders.
