My far and away favorite shoe is the Sidi Titanium. Probably introduced somewhere around 1977 or 1978, they have titanium mounting plates for the cleats. I have two pairs in service (including my original pair) and a virtually unused pair in reserve.

Detto Pietro shoes (mod unknown) are also very fine but on the narrow side for me.
