I, for one, am relieved that that's your third (and last, see Rule 10) post of the day.

For the record, I've always believed the pursuit of easily available and discrete contemporary alternatives to scarce period-correct consumables (like tires, rims, bar tape, cables and housing) is squarely on-topic. This is a very frequent subject on the list and I don't remember Dale ever objecting.

Thank you for forgoing the "'colorful' commentary or 'shootbacks.'" But your curt redirections to bikeforums are liable to irritate people. Search the archives and I'm sure you'll be able to find examples of more gentle reminders to stay on topic. But you should really wait until posters _are_ off topic before employing them.

If anyone has cared to notice...I just say:

1. OFF TOPIC 2. And suggest an alternate location as is suggested in the rules.

I no longer add any "colorful" commentary or "shootbacks" so as not to start or contribute to a flameware per Dale's previous requests.
