Subject: Re: [CR] Source for New 40 Hole Rims?

I'm looking for 40 hole rims as part of a 32 x 40 hole set for a vintage bike. I'm ok with a modern set, but would like them to match. Harris Cyclery used to stock the venerable CR-18 in 40 holes, but apparently no longer. I'd love to get something like the even nicer rims that Velo Orange and Vintage Bicycle Press sell, not yet available in 40 holes. Is there a source for a modern 32 x 40 hole set of rims that I might find? Or is there enough need from the vintage community to support having one of those two company's make a special order for 40 holed rims? Please let the group know on list if you'd be willing to purchase a modern, classic style 40 hole rim. I still believe that the 32 x 40 front/rear combination really is a nice idea even if no longer a standard. Regards, and Happy trails. Dan Artley in Parkton, Maryland USA

Me too, but I'd like them in 590's.
