An ultrasonic cleaner from Harbor Freight works well with a little simple green & water...if the part is completely disassembled, I don't see a problem using water based cleaners. I usually blow the parts dry & coat with T-9 boshield. Just don't get the wrong degreaser or the anodize will be gone from your parts. There's no scrubbing involved. Just set the timer & wait.

There is also the ultrasonic scale if you know a dentist wanting to sell a used one. It will clean plaque from your teeth and grease from bike parts!
