Ben: I find nothing "weird" about this movie or the movie made about Ritter's Hour Record attempt. You're correct in that many people had great expectations for Ritter. It's just that although Ritter was a very good rider,and a star, he, like all the others of his generation, weren't quite as good as Merckx-probably the greatest rider of all time. That having been said, these movies are both an acknowledgment of Merckx's greatness and a tribute to the guys of that generation, like Ritter, that gave their best-both the stars and the water carriers.
