I had a '60s Rossignoli, back in '69 and '70, that came with a FB cottered crank with a 3-pin spider, forged as one piece with the right crank arm. It spun on a Magistroni bottom bracket. Since then I've seen a Campy cottered crank of an identical design, except for the Campy logo in place of the FB. The Gran Sport design is much more rounded than the FB/Campy, though I would not call the FB/Campy crude or folksy.

That bike was reputed to have been build based on racing parts left over in the warehouse. I bought the bike new around 1969, but I have no idea if that crankset was made in the '50's, 60's, or perhaps even the '30s. It also came with a steel Record rear derailleur. Great bike!
