About that huffy!

That was actually Leonard Nitz' bike, and sold for a paltry $400.

I was the 2nd potential buyer to see it, and I didn't get to buy it. It was a tapered-tube Serotta True-Temper with full ~1986 D-A and one real oddity: The right shifter boss was merely a brazed cable stop for a bar-end grip-shift in neon yellow. How unique was that among all the True-Temper Serotta Huffy's out there?

Joe (the buyer) was reportedly soon offered much more for the bike by race promoter John Elgart who had been alerted and went to the swap to buy that very bike. Same John Elgart my evil nemesis on the local 'cross scene despite a 15-year seniority "advantage". (And same guy who won the 'cross Nat's in a Rhode Island blizzard a couple of years back).

Joe was also the one who so graciously directed me to the NOS Ideale 90 with fancy tilt-lock Ideale clamp that was being offered for yep, $40.

Joe also scours Craigslist and last week scored a 1986 Allez (Yoshi Konno?) built of Tange Prestige MTB, all Superbe Pro, a bit tweaked as it turns out, for only $160.00. He also sold me a clean, mid-'70's early-Super-Record Limongi for $400! The prices he pays for great bikes amazes me.

Great meeting the modest CR contingent in attendance including Jack and one John Strizek of Sacramento.
