I spoke to the fellow offering the wood rims on ebay about 3 months ago (maybe even longer ago). I asked him the source of the rims and how many he had.
They come from an old family production, he had at least 50 pair back at the time.
I did not go ahead with the purchase as he was not able to describe to my satisfaction how the rims had been stored. Incorrectly stored wood rims can be too dangerous for my liking to take a risk. One of my Italian friends has however bought some and built up a few sets of wheels that he is now trying out. If the trial works out well, I will then perhaps buy some.
