I've been using 32cm wire bead Avocets on these 21mm Weinmann concaves on my regular rider Medici Gran Turismo for over a year without incident. They're kind of heavy and collect water and dirt, however sturdy. Make sure the bead seats evenly.

Due to the lack of a hook bead I was wondering if anyone has successfully used narrow (under 21mm outside dimension) Weinmann A124 concave rims with modern 28mm tires that actually measure 28mm (or even a bit more.) The old catalogs listed them as being 700x25 but the nominally 25mm Specialized tires that came on the wheels were no wider than the rim.

I'm hoping to use 700x28 Michelin Dynamics. I've not seen the 28s up close yet, but the 32mm Dynamics are the plumpest 32s I've ever seen.
