However the frame that is being talked about is late 70s/early 80s - by then the switch to short reach brakes had largely been made. When Campag brakes were launched in 1968/9 only standard reach brakes were listed in the catalogue \u2013 it was not until the 1974 catalogue that short reach brakes were listed... And it took a few years for the framebuilders to adjust the reach of the brakes needed and most settled on about 45mm which needed the short reach brakes. Certainly by 1977/78 90% of the frames coming from Raleigh SBDU at Ilkeston used short reach brakes and virtually every other race frame manufacturer was the same.
