The Olmo Firenze was offered in at least 1985-86. Main tubes were Columbus SL, although I don't know whether that was a tretubi set. The ones I recall were offered in pearl white with choice of either blue or red anodized Galli parts groups, including the rims. One of the bike magazines did a road test in about 1986 on it and I loved the look. I had recently purchased a new bike and recall thinking that had the Firenze been available, I would have bought it instead of the bike I did buy. I suspect other colors were offered, but I just don't have knowledge of that off the top of my head and I'm too lazy to find that road test in my magazine archive. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL USA

Note to Gary Crocker: I'm an Olmo fan too, Gary (right now the only Olmo in my stable is one of their tandems), but I'm not familiar with the "Firenze" model. Since the main Olmo factory is in Celle Liguria ("Ligurian prison", *i.e.*, where the Roman prison was located), I guess they chose Florence for the model name because naming a model after their home town wouldn't have gone over too well. Would *you* buy a "*Prison*" model Olmo?
