In fact its quite a bit more complicated still... And I certainly don't know it all yet by any means.
So I have added comments to Don's list below.

Raleigh would still spray 753 frames as late as 1988 in the red and
black Team colours - from 1983 the 753 frames did not have drilled dropouts.

531 Competition tubing did not exist until 1983. There were lots of
variations on the early (pre 1977) frames built at Ilkeston. Most were
built from standard 531 double butted tubing, a few I suspect from 531SL.

1983 Team Replicas did not have three bottom bracket slots and either
had shot-on stays or ones with the oversize caps.
Sometimes these frames were badged up as Professional in Team colours.

Earliest one I have seen is 1976 - latest about 1980, they were built at
Worksop. Larger clearances than Team Replicas.
A variation on this was the Rapide sometimes I believe with full 531 DB
and sometimes with 531 plain gauge main tubes.

Gran Sport on UK market in the early 80s was a full 531 DB frame which
could be had in Team colours - distingushed by standard flat seatstay
cap or concave seatstay top. And the Competition could be had at least
one year in Team colours I think.
