Mark,

Your Wizard is pure flamboyant purple. The Masi purple has some pearl added which changes the effect a bit. The flamboyant is more difficult to accomplish. The pearl makes it a little more painter friendly to apply. I like both colors, in the right place.

I have a Wizard painted by Brian Baylis in year 1999. It is the purple-est purple I have ever seen, really sort of a dark eggplant in many photographs, but when you get it out in the sun it's about 2 feet deep. I remember asking Brian for "laser purple" and he got it right. Many people comment on this gorgeous bike. 10 years on it still looks fantastic.

I think this color is even a step beyond the Masi purple, which I've seen on some 3Vs.
