Well, yes and no. There are bikes out there (don't remember the makes) that have a vertical hole through the rear bridge, and these adapters allow the use of a brake. It also may work as a mudguard mount. I found a couple of these years ago and have yet to find a use for them. Neat little conversation piece though.
